Robin Houston

Hope For Three is honored to introduce our December Autism Superhero, Robin Houston!

Robin is a compassionate, empowering, nurturing person with her big superpower of being a fantastic wife, mom, sister, and friend. Robin has taken care of her autistic nephew, Dion, since he was two years old.

People describe Robin as a strong person, even though she disagrees. She realizes that her strength comes from God above due to her many life challenges. Robin navigates the autism journey with her nephew, husband, Michael, and college student daughter, April. Robin’s life has been filled with joy and pain. She is a warrior mom, a strong voice in the autism community, and an inspiring and remarkable woman for overcoming so much in her lifetime.

When Robin first began caring for Dion, she was unsure how it would affect her personally and her family, for better or worse. She persisted through and without end and raised a splendid young man who is now nineteen. As Dion matures and grows, Robin uses her life experiences to advocate and generate autism awareness and acceptance. Robin has always had a servant’s heart and is a Registered Nurse at Houston Methodist Hospital. She served on the Hope For Three Board of Directors for over six years and continues to serve the autism community with love, passion, and care. Her willpower, strength, and courage make Robin our more than worthy December Autism Superhero!

“You must know that you can do this. You are strong. And you will make it. Just hang on and keep believing in yourself, always.” — Heather A. Stillufsen
